Eleanor "Jane" Janssen's Obituary
Mrs. Eleanor “Jane” Janssen, age 94, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2011. She was born June 10, 1917 to Walter and Gladys (Snyder) Howard in Muskegon, MI. She was a graduate of Michigan State in Medical Technology. Jane was a member of Spring Lake Presbyterian Church in retirement. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years at Community Congregational Church in Lathrup Village, MI, active in the Woman’s association and Woman’s circle. One highlight for Jane was a mission trip to Haiti with Faith in Action International. She also loved gardening, Bible study, traveling and bird watching. She is survived by her children, Linda (Peter) Soroos of Santa Fe, NM, Doug Doering of Nunica, Carl (Betty) Doering of Nunica, Anne Doering of Albuquerque, NM, Ellen (Gregg) Stern of Santa Fe, NM, Jill Currie (Tom Haydu) of Sterling Hts., MI; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Ray Howard; and sister, Mary McKay. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Wendell R. Doering MD and Lee Janssen; and brothers George Howard, Robert Howard and James Howard. The MEMORIAL SERVICE for Jane will be at 2PM Saturday, November 12, 2011 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S.
