Susan Wikman Gay
To Al, Janet, Mary and Linnea and families,
My mother, Esther Wikman, and her children, Susan, Bruce and Craig, wish to express our deep sympathies to you all and to not so much let you know how dear Elinor is and was to us, as she has known us and Mom since we had her as a kindergarten teacher and even after she retired from teaching, Mom and Elinor remained close friends. We'd get her in the car and take her for ice cream and drive to the beach, or just around Muskegon. And how we would laugh, she had the sweetest smile. We would visit at the Hume Home and I gave her a scarf I had knitted, and she'd pick up my needles and count the stitches. I peeled her an orange and she ate the whole thing and loved it. I remember when me and my brothers were at the beach and she had her Airstream parked down there. And out she popped from it and we were so surprised to see her. We greeted her like a long lost friend, which she was. She was a huge friend to my mom and just wanted you to know how much we will miss her!!
