Elinor D. Christianson's Obituary
Elinor Dorothy Christianson, age 98, passed away Tuesday morning, August 11, 2015. She was born December 11, 1916 in Muskegon to Tobias and Ellen (Lund) Reinertson. Elinor was a 1935 graduate of Muskegon Heights High School. On November 2, 1940 she married Parence K. Christianson in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on November 3, 1962. Elinor had worked as a secretary at Weber Lumber Company for 40 years before retiring in 2004. She was a former active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was most recently a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. One of her favorite past times was traveling, and she traveled extensively with family and friends. SURVIVORS include 3 children: Lynn Ruhl of Spring Lake, Roger (Carol) Christianson of Jenison, Mark (Carla) Christianson of Caledonia; 5 grandchildren: Christopher (Katherine) Ruhl, Craig Ruhl, Courtney Ruhl, David (Vanessa) Christianson, Maria (Andrew) Bertrand; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Elinor was also preceded in death by 6 brothers, 2 sisters, and her son-in-law, William Ruhl. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 14, 2015 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 15395 Rannes, Spring Lake, MI 49456, with the Rev. Michael Goers officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Mona View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Muskegon.
