Elio Lorenzo "Leo" Marinelli's Obituary
Mr. Elio Lorenzo “Leo” Marinelli, age 93, passed away Wednesday evening, June 17, 2009 at VNS Hospice. Leo was born November 14, 1915 in Philadelphia, PA., to Angelo and Silvia (Armellei) Marinelli. He served his Country in the U.S. Army on the Island of Saipan during WWII. He retired from the Army with the rank of Captain, after being selected to attend OCI. After the war, Leo returned to Muskegon to marry the former Ann Tardani at the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church on April 27, 1946. Leo had worked in quality control at the Dover Corporation for 25 years prior to his retirement in 1978. He had served as the president of the U.A.W. Local # 828 during his working years. Leo was a true blue Detroit Lions fan, and will be greatly missed by his entire famly. Leo is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann; his 3 children, Paula Kammers of Muskegon, Sylvia Marinelli of Grand Rapids, and Thomas (Jamie) Marinelli of Dutton, MI; 4 grandchildren, Robert Arnson, Jennifer Arnson, Jeffery Marinelli, and Renee Marinelli; the most awesome great grandchild to have, Mario Lorenzo Marinelli; a special grandson, Jason Frasier; 2 brothers, Fred (Jean) Marinelli of Philadelphia, PA, and Robert Marinelli of Conshockhocken, PA; many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Samuel James in 1974, and by 5 sisters and 4 brothers. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 22, 2009 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (451 S. Getty St ) with the Rev. Fr. Michael Olson presiding. Entombment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery mausoleum with Full Military Rites under the auspices of V.F.W. Muskegon County Council. VISITATION will be Sunday from 4-7:00 P.M. at
