Elise Hope Keur's Obituary
Mrs. Elise Hope Keur, age 98, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in Grand Rapids. She was born on April 28, 1918 to Jacob and Bertha (Chatterson) Drent in Muskegon. Hope was an active member of Fellowship Reformed Church and also took part in the Ladies Aid Society. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and embroidery along with playing the piano and organ. Many years ago, the Keur family owned and operated Keur’s Dairy Bar on Apple Avenue. Hope later worked as a machine operator at Standard Automotive for 30 years prior to her retirement in 1975. On September 26, 1942 she married Henry W. Keur and he preceded her in death on August 22, 2010. SURVIVORS include son, Jon (Ellyn) Keur of Grand Rapids; 5 grandchildren, Dan (Christy) Keur, Dora (Robert) Scholten, David (Jayne) Keur, Andrew Keur and Kayla Keur and 11 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Jake, and Trevor Keur, Will and Nathan Scholten, Grace Marz, Blake and Bryson Keur, Stephen and Justin Prestly, and Tyler Howes. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Fellowship Reformed Church (4200 Apple Ave.) with Pastor Mike VanKampen and Pastor Greg VanderMeer co-officiating. VISITATION with Hope’s family will be 5-8PM Monday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442, 231-726-5210. Burial will be in Egelston Twp. Cemetery. For a more lasting memorial you are asked to consider Fellowship Reformed Church or Sanctuary of St. Mary’s in Grand Rapids.
