Mrs. Elizabeth Mary Betlejewski's Obituary
Mrs. Elizabeth Mary Betlejewski, age 90, passed away Saturday morning, November 24, 2012, at Lakewoods Living Center. She was born May 12, 1922 in Muskegon to Alex and Margaret (Odor) Szucs and was a life resident of the area. Elizabeth married Phillip F. Betlejewski on March 18, 1944 in Muskegon and he preceded her in death in 1966. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was active with the Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #599. She was also a Cub Scout Den Leader and volunteered as a playground attendant at Sacred Heart School. Elizabeth will be remembered for her apple pies, candy making and crafts – especially her many Christmas ornaments that she made by hand. SURVIVORS include 2 sons, Phil (Carole) Betlejewski, Mike (Tina) Betlejewski of Charlotte, NC; 2 grandchildren, Beth (Jon) Sander of Minneapolis, MN, David Betlejewski of Norton Shores; 2 great-grandsons, Jack and Andrew Sander of Minneapolis, MN. She was also preceded in death by her son, Joseph Betlejewski, her parents, and 2 brothers, John and Joseph Szucs. In keeping with her wishes, private services will be held.
