Elizabeth "Betty" Brown's Obituary
Elizabeth Mae (Dreese) Brown passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at her home.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She loved making sugar cookies with her son, Adam, for every holiday. At Christmas, Betty and her very dear friend, Lisa Joslyn and her daughters Rylie and Nora made chocolate peanut butter balls. They had done that since 2006 and never missed a Christmas.
Betty worked at the Pizza and Sub Shop for 32 years before being forced into retirement because of the cancer. She called her job her second home and second family. She enjoyed chatting with each and every person that came in the door.
She will be sadly missed by her husband David of 49 years, her son Adam, and her sisters Pat and Roger Holzinger, Nancy and Don Mastenbrook, Suzi and Fred Hemmeke, Diane and Ed Smith, and Donna and Doug Grant. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son David Bryan, her brother James Edward Dreese, her parents John and Erma Dreese and in-laws, Roland and Lee Brown, her Uncle Erwin Bunchkowski Jr. and her nephew Bradley Joseph Holzinger.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Monday, July 25, 2022, at The Spring Lake Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 213 E. Savidge Street, Spring Lake, MI 49456 with Rev. Daniel Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Spring Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in memory of Betty may be given to the American Cancer Society or Harbor Hospice Foundation. Please sign the family’s online guestbook http://www.sytsemafh.com.
