Elizabeth C. Cordo's Obituary
Mrs. Elizabeth C. Cordo, age 88, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 in Whitehall. She was born on May 23, 1927 to David and Catherine (Hoffman) Zack and was a lifelong resident of the North Muskegon area. In 1948 she married Dominic J. Cordo and after 52 years of marriage he passed away in 2000. Elizabeth and Dominic owned Spot Cleaners in Muskegon for 50 years. She was a longtime member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Muskegon. Elizabeth enjoyed sewing, knitting and gardening, but her greatest joy was time spent with her family. SURVIVORS include her children, Pamela (Doyle) Erickson, Michael (Nancy) Cordo, David Cordo, Robert (Kathy) Cordo, Elizabeth (Tino) Corradin and Jeff (Cindy) Cordo; 9 grandchildren: Erin, Eric, Andrew, Sara, Anthony, Angela, Olivia, Noah and Maria; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Viola Walsh; sister-in-law, Donna Zack. Elizabeth was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Bud and David Zack; and her sister, Josephine Cowels. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Muskegon with Rev. Fr. Matthew Barnum presiding. VISITATION will be held from 5-8 pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Foundation in Elizabeth’s name. Funeral arrangements are being handled by The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231)798-1100.
