Elizabeth De Bruyn's Obituary
Elizabeth Emilie De Bruyn, age 92, of Spring Lake passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at an Allendale care facility. She was born April 11, 1913 to Emil and Ruth (Wills) Warber, Sr. in Spring Lake, MI; and she married Roland J. De Bruyn on October 10, 1938. He passed away on November 7, 1985. A lifelong area resident, Mrs. De Bruyn had been a member of Spring Lake Presbyterian Church and a member of the Presbyterian Women’s Group. She graduated from beauty school in Chicago and worked for the Beauty Parlour in Spring Lake in her early years. She worked for Braak’s Bakery for two years and then worked as the office manager in the family business, De Bruyn Signs, 1962-1982. Mrs. De Bruyn was also a charter member of Lakeland Painters, Interlochen and the Tuesday Musicale. She enjoyed painting portraits, needlepoint, reading and collecting antiques. Survivors include her daughter Debby (Andrew M. Soria) De Bruyn of Freeport, IL; two grandchildren, Ann and David Soria; two sisters, Norma Bethke of Allendale and Virginia Piasecki of Spring Lake; and a sister-in-law Emily Warber of Spring Lake. She was preceded in death by her sister Carol Wachter and brother Emil Warber, Jr.
