Mrs. Elizabeth M. Hicks' Obituary
Mrs. Elizabeth Maxine “Betty” Hicks, age 84, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 in Whitehall, MI. She was born in Muskegon on August 19, 1930 to Fredolph and Eliza (Ashcraft) Norstrom. Betty volunteered as a secretary for TOPS and enjoyed crocheting. She loved her family and greatly cherished her grandchildren. On March 3, 1951, Betty married Thomas E. Hicks and he survives her along with three children, Gregory Hicks, Bradley (Tammy) Hicks and Susan (Mike) Herbert; five grandchildren, Michael, Samantha, Zachary, Jacob and Lacey; one brother, Gordon Norstrom and one sister, Janet (Bill) Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Norstrom; one sister, Joyce Jozsa; one brother-in-law, John Jozsa and two sister’s-in-law, MaryAnn Norstrom and Mary Ann Norstrom. A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Lakeside Cemetery (2201 Crozier, Muskegon 49441) with a Celebration Luncheon immediately following at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. In lieu of flowers, please consider the Alzheimer’s Association or Heartland Healthcare Center of Whitehall Activities Department. The family would like to thank Whitehall Heartland Healthcare Center for all their wonderful care.
