Elizabeth Ann “Lizzi” “Betty Ann” Poort, age 80, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Trinity Health – Muskegon Hospital. She was born July 25, 1945 in Milwaukee, WI to Theodore and Francis (Ross) Kent. Elizabeth married William “Bill” J. Poort on October 16, 2007 in Muskegon. She worked in the office of Paul S. Christie, DDS and for over 20 years as an assembler for Knoll where she retired in 2007. Elizabeth was a member of the Lakeside Veterans Club, the Polish Falcons, and the Polish Roman Catholic Union. Survivors include her husband, Bill Poort; 4 children, Abigail (Nick) Green, Andrew (Jennifer) Green, Adam (Andrea) Green, Andrea (David) Slagh; 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Theodore (Terri) Kent and Mark (Sue) Kent. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Francis Kent; and 2 sisters, Mary Ellen and Nancy.
Liz had a very unique and special way of making all the people in her life feel loved, important and cared for. She adored her family and spending time with them - her loving husband Bill, her children and their spouses and most especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed making dog toys and handing them out for free to pet owners at the beach. She had a fun-loving, free spirit and spent many memorable years riding Harleys with her husband Bill. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
