Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Workman's Obituary
Resting in the arms of Jesus, Mrs. Elizabeth Mary “Betty” Workman, age 93, passed away Monday morning, September 21, 2015, at Seminole Shores Living Center. Betty was born June 8, 1922 to Leonard and Marie (Groeneveld) Dolislager in Muskegon. Betty married Wesley Nicholas Workman on December 12, 1942, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2001. Betty was a long time member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church where she was involved in many church activities. Betty had been a Calvinette Leader, participated in Bible Studies, and was involved in the Women’s Guild. Betty was always a welcoming presence at Bethany, as well as at her home; always hospitable, and a good listener. She had a servant’s heart and always had time for others. Betty had also been very involved with the ministry of Muskegon Rescue Mission. She loved her church, the color purple, and her family. Betty faithfully attended her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events as long as she was able. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Betty is survived by her daughters, Joan Workman, Barbara Workman, and Kathy (Joseph) Willer all of the Muskegon area; 2 beloved grandchildren, Nick (Holly) Willer and Andrea Twining; 7 precious great grandchildren; Braden, Kameron, Chase, Addison; Cordyn, Sophia, and Hallee; sister-in-law, Marge Dolislager; many nieces and nephews, cousins, and special friends, Sue and Jim Goorman. In addition to her husband Wes, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Dale Wesley Workman, 2 brothers, Gary and William Dolislager, and a sister, Gertrude Fogg. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Bethany Church, 1105 Terrace St. with Pastor David Sieplinga officiating. VISITATION will be Wednesday evening from 5-8 PM at the Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Bethany Church or Harbor Hospice. Interment will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Many thanks to all the staff of Seminole Shores for their special care and love.
