Elizabeth "Betsy" Berry's Obituary
Mrs. Elizabeth “Betsy” Berry, age 95, died Tuesday, January 11, 2005 in Muskegon. She was born on February 12, 1909 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to John & Clara (Rompleman) Terwin, and had resided in Muskegon since 1985 after spending most of her life in the Detroit area. Mrs. Berry had worked at the Detroit Board of Education for 15 years, before retiring in the 1970’s. Mrs. Berry was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was a skilled seamstress. On August 8, 1943 she married Emory J. Berry, and he preceded her in death on March 16, 1995. SURVIVORS include, 1 son, George (Bonnie) Berry of Muskegon; 2 grandchildren, Craig (Mary Beth) Berry of Plano, TX, Jeanette (John) Levy of Midland, MI; 5 great grandchildren, Lauren, Kyle, and Ryan Berry and Megan and Rachel Levy; and 1 brother, John “Jack” (Jan) Terwin of Plymouth, MI. Mrs. Berry was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, and 1 brother. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 2 PM Saturday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 with Rev. Fr. James B. Wyse officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to Every Woman’s Place, and Hackley Visiting Nurse Services-Hospice would be appreciated.
