Dave and I were talking about her just last week. Your mother and father were very special people and inflenced my childhood greatly! I will always love her and now will always miss her. I got to know your mom and dad through the Orchard View Adult High School classes. The class I remember her most in was the one in which people wrote their life history. Your mom was so proud of her Dutch heritage, her work at school, her choirs, and especially her family. She spoke in awe of all that you and your family accomplished in California, awe and love. Her faith in God was of utmost importance,too. She was a loving, lovely lady. Please accept my deepest sympathy. I am sitting here remembering you guys and the simpler times we used to have in the old neighborhood on Irwin. I have been having lunch monthly with the girls(Dolly Eden and Jane and Sandy Saxe) form the nieghborhood since Dad died last Feb. Mom is still alive in Knollveiw Nursing home, she just turned 85. The girls and I have been talking about how much fun it would be to see the whole crew (Irwin& Kampenga St) again and remember the good times. Your mom was very special always looking out for the kids on the street to be sure things were OK with everyone she will be greatly missed by everyone. My prayers are with you. Please feel free to email if you would like or even if you remember to little girl that lived down the street that used to be part of the group playing 4 square in the street. Your Mother was a great friend. I have many happy memories of Saturday morning coffee, and the many trips we were on from Orchard View.
