Mrs. Ella C. “Chris” Griffith, age 77, passed away Tuesday evening, June 15, 2004. Chris was a member of Evanston Ave. Church of Christ. Chris was born September 21, 1926 to James and Katie (Wilson) Collins in Springfield, Tennessee and has resided in the Muskegon area most of their married life. On July 5, 1946 she married Charles H. Griffith, and he preceded her in death on September 13, 1993. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Bob (Debbie) Griffith of Muskegon, and Karen Tabert of Sugar Hill, GA.; 3 grandchildren, Hope Griffith, Eric Tabert; and Sara Collins; along with 3 great-grandchildren; Caitlynn and Paige Griffith, and Ashley Collins; 1 brother, Richard Collins of California.; 3 sisters, Helen Minzey of Muskegon, Maxine Brown, and Elizabeth Griffith of Tennessee. Chris was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; 1 son, Charles Jr.; 1 daughter, Linda; 1 granddaughter, Leah Tabert; 1 brother, Fred Collins, and 1 sister, Marie Hanson. SERVICE will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 18, 2004 at The Walburn Chapel with Pastor John Brown officiating. VISITATION will be 6:00 to 8:00pm Thursday at the funeral home. MEMORIAL to the American Cancer Society.
