Ella Mae Albertie's Obituary
Mrs. Ella Mae Albertie, age 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday evening, September 11, 2010. She was born February 13, 1918 to Abel and Kathryn (Rosema) Holtrop in Ferrysburg, and lived all of her life in the W. Michigan area. She helped manage Green Gardens nursery for 40 years, retiring in 1979, was a member of Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church, the Mary Martha Society at the church, and also enjoyed gardening. Above all, she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. On August 31, 1938 Ella Mae married John G. Albertie. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2000. SURVIVORS include 2 sons: Curtis J. (Penny) Albertie of N. Muskegon, J. Richard “Rick” (Janet) Albertie of Norton Shores;1 daughter-in-law, Kay Albertie of Orchard Lake, MI; 8 grandchildren, Heather (Robert) Garrettson, C.J. (Jason) Massimore, Kari (Brian) Elliott, Keith (Jackie) Albertie, Kyle Albertie, Chris Albertie, Eric Albertie, Andrew Schmidt; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Eunice “June” Medema of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Roger K. Albertie; 3 brothers, Claus, Donald, and Dr. H. Robert Holtrop; 1 sister, Margerite “Marge” Dornbos. A CELEBRATION of Ella Mae’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 18, at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Chaplain Marilyn Rottschafer officiating. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service.
