Mrs. Ellen M. Petty's Obituary
Mrs. Ellen Maude Petty, age 90, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014, at her home. Mrs. Petty was born April 27, 1923 to David and Alma (Long) Hopkins in Muskegon. On December 18, 1943 she married Robert H. Petty and he preceded her in death on May 3, 1980. Ellen and Bob moved to Kansas City in 1971 and Ellen returned to the Muskegon area in 2013. She loved to knit, sew and crochet; anything to do with crafts. She also enjoyed going to the casino. Ellen is SURVIVED by her daughters, Nancy (Nassar) Sohrabi of Kansas City, MO and Carrie (John) Boorem of Kansas City, KS; Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Lester (Marilyn) Hopkins and Henry “Hank” (Mari Lou) Hopkins all of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert H. Petty Jr.; daughter, Barbara Petty; sister, Ida Miller and brother, Homer Hopkins. Private services will be held. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
