Ellen Lin Todl's Obituary
Ellen Lin Todl, age 71, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018. She was born December 7, 1946 in Muskegon to Mack and Norma (Burwell) Knowles. Lin had lived 30 years in Oconomowoc, WI while working with the Oconomowoc Area School District as assistant to the superintendent. After retirement, she joined the office staff at Richard Neils, M.D. Dermatologist, where she worked several years before moving back to Muskegon in 2011. On December 22, 1974 she married Bruce Todl in Wisconsin and he preceded her in death in 2006. Lin enjoyed quilting, needle crafts and started a Quilting Guild in Wisconsin. She loved dogs and obedience training, and along with her faithful dog “Arthur” won many awards. In 1992, she became the first bi-lateral lung transplant recipient at the University of Wisconsin and in 2002, received a kidney from her sister, Judy Knowles. SURVIVORS include her daughter, Christy (Scott) Herbert of Muskegon; 3 grandchildren: Erin (Joshua) Hatfield, and twins: Connor and Gavin Herbert; and sister, Judy Knowles. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 1, 2018 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery.
