Ellen E. Landon's Obituary
Mrs. Ellen E. Landon, age 85, died Thursday, September 1, 2005 in Muskegon. She was born on December 10, 1919 in Fern, MI to Elmer & Elizabeth (Hannah) Smith, and had resided in Muskegon for 58 years. Mrs. Landon had worked at Reeths Puffer Jr. High, and a member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church. She loved sewing, knitting, and canning. On August 7, 1948 she married Charles H. Landon, Jr., and he survives her along with 4 children, Roger (Arlene) Smith of Marne, MI, Cheryl (James) Amstutz of Wyoming, MI, Larry (Linda) Landon and Joanne (Brett) Balkema both of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Sylvan (Janice) Smith of Erlanger, KY; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Landon was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer & Elizabeth; brother, James Smith; and sister, Katherine Parnell. SERVICES will be 3 PM Saturday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave.(231) 726-5210with Rev. Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating. VISITATION with the family will be from 1-3 PM Saturday. Burial will take place in Laketon Twp. Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to Hackley VNS Hospice would be appreciated.
