Ellsworth "Al" Montambo's Obituary
Mr. Ellsworth J. “Al” Montambo, age 78, died Thursday, May 13, 2004 in Grand Rapids. Born in Stambaugh, MI on July 5, 1925, Al resided in Muskegon for most of his life. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in World War II, and was a lifetime member of the DAV. He also was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church. Al was retired from Teledyne Continental Motors, and was a carpenter by trade. On July 23, 1949 he married the former Norma Genson, and she survives him along with 2 children, Joseph (Karna) Montambo of Sand Lake, and Sunday (Robert) Evans of Fruitport; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; 1 brother, William Montambo of Ravenna; and 1 sister, Janet (John) Gebolys of Muskegon. Mr. Montambo was preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister. SERVICES will be 1 PM Monday at Fellowship Reformed Church with Rev. Greg VanderMeer officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.,737 Apple Ave.,231-726-5210. Burial will take place in Mona View Cemetery.
