Ellwood T. Burns' Obituary
Mr. Ellwood T. Burns, age 89, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2004 at Brookhaven Medical Care Facility. He was born May 18, 1914 in Mancelona, MI to Clyde and Rose (Morlander) Burns and lived in the Muskegon area most of his life. He married the former Mae Ethel Reid on December 3, 1945 and she preceded him in death on October 23, 1983. Prior to retirement in 1963, he worked for 19 years as a machinist for Brunswick Corp. SURVIVORS include 7 children, Marlon (Jerry) Burns of Flint, LaVern Burns of Spring Lake, Ruth Miller of Twin Lake, Ed (Judy) Burns of Muskegon, Wm. C. (Vivian) Burns of Muskegon, Mary Ann (Richard) Schultz of Ishpenning, and Sandra (Don) Lockhart of Muskegon; and 3 generations of grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Burns. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at the Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210, with the Rev. Bobby Cabot officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Egelston Township Cemetery. VISITATION with Ellwood’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM today at the funeral home.
