Elmer S. Thomas' Obituary
Mr. Elmer S. Thomas, age 86 passed away at home Thursday morning following a long illness. He was born in Muskegon on January 21, 1923 to Alexander and Lila (Frizzell) Thomas and was a graduate of Ravenna High School. He married the former Marian Young in 1942 and she preceded him in death in 2003. Elmer served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army, serving in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters. Returning home, Elmer made his home in Norton Shores and retired from Neway Corporation where he was a welding supervisor. Following his retirement from Neway, Elmer became a partner in Cooper Machine and Welding, he retired from Cooper Machine in 1990. Mr. Thomas was a member of, V.F.W. Post 446 and was a former member of the Muskegon Hts. Eagles. He is survived by: three daughters, Nancy Sibley of Spring Lake, Carol Sibley of Cloverville and Vicki Jurecic of Norton Shores; one son, Allen (Jessica) Thomas of Fruitport; brother, Jack (Dawn) Stevens of Muskegon; two sisters, Betty Rice and Ethel (Frances) Ferrier both of Muskegon; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Ann in 1959 and two brothers, Lawrence Thomas and Bob Mudge. The funeral service will be held at:
