Elva Lucille Chambers' Obituary
Mrs. Elva Lucille Chambers, age 76, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids. She was born August 4, 1933 in Muskegon to Sidney and Irene (Hess) DeGraves. She married Curtis Chambers in Muskegon on June 1, 1963. Lucille was formerly employed as a dental assistant for several years prior to raising her family. She was a very active member of Temple United Methodist Church, past president of United Methodist Women and a member of the American Business Womens’ Association. SURVIVORS include: her husband, Curtis; 3 daughters, Jill (Brian) Batka, Jean (Steve Johnson) Chambers and Kimberly (Mark) VanAelst all in the Muskegon area; 7 grandchildren, Brett Batka, Torben, Reyna & Evyn Johnson, Andrew, Brianna and Bradley VanAelst. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be held, Monday, 11:00 a.m. at Temple United Methodist Church, with Rev. Rob Cook officiating. VISITATION will be Sunday 6-8 p.m. at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. She will be laid to rest in Mona View Cemetery. MEMORIAL contributions may be made to Temple United Methodist Church or M.A.P. Supper House.
