Mr. Elwin Carol Morrison's Obituary
Mr. Elwin Carol Morrison, age 95, passed away November 20, 2012 at his home in Twin Lake, MI. He was born in Grant, MI on August 26, 1917 to Leo and Mable (Olson) Morrison. Mr. Morrison was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in WWII. He was employed by Norton Lumber before retiring in 1982. Mr. Morrison was a member of First Congregational Church in Muskegon and a past member of the VFW Post #3734 in Fruitport. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed working in his yard and having camp fires. On September 29, 1939, Elwin married the former Betty Jane VanderWeele, and she preceded him in death on June 13, 2011.
He is survived by 3 children, Shirlie (John) Start, Janyce (Richard) Vitek, and Glenys (Maurice) Sage; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister; and 3 brothers. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., 231-759-8565 with Rev. Paul Burmeister officiating. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS to the American Heart Association or to the Disabled American Veterans would be appreciated.
