Elwyn Gerald Hudson's Obituary
Elwyn Gerald Hudson, age 86, a resident of Spring Lake for more than 50 years, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021, at home. He was born June 28, 1935, in Owosso, MI, to Gerald and LeMae (Royce) Hudson. He married his high school sweetheart, Carol Jean Pratt on July 6, 1957.
Elwyn served his country for 6 years in the Army Reserves in the Korean War era. He began his long career with GTE as a lineman, advancing to a Manager of Engineering by his retirement 30 years later. Upon his retirement from GTE, Elwyn started his own telephone consulting business.
He and the love of his life for 64 years, Carol, enjoyed their retirement traveling and camping across United States in their fifth wheel trailer. Elwyn enjoyed family, woodworking, and carving.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Carol (Pratt) Hudson; his four children: Kenna (Kevin) Durkee, Kendall (Robin) Hudson, Joylyne Sanders, Kelcey (Michael) Thompson; his brothers, Arden (Margaret) Hudson and William (Joy) Hudson; his 4 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son-in-law, Larry Sanders on August 29, 2021.
The funeral for Elwyn will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021, with Rev. Dan Anderson officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
