Emil Van Cura Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Emil Van Cura, Jr. age 79, of Spring Lake passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 at home. He was born June 16, 1935 in Grand Rapids to Emil, Sr. and Ruby (Pond) Van Cura. On February 12, 1955 he married the former Carol Tragna of Grand Haven. Emil, Greg, Doug and Ken Teske owned and locally operated V&T Construction Inc and served the water ways of Spring Lake and Benton Harbor Michigan.
Emil was a crane operator and also part of the Operating Engineers Local 324. He enjoyed Fishing, Hunting, Riding his Harley Davidson, but most of all he loved his family. He was also a member of St. Patrick’s Church of Grand Haven.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; three sons: Greg Van Cura of Fort Pierce, FL, Douglas (Liz) Van Cura of Grand Haven, and Scott (Vikki) Van Cura of Grand Haven; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters Bonnie Vanderzwag, & Nancy Jerovsek; and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be 8 PM Thursday, May 28, 2015 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday before the service.
