Emily K. Juhas' Obituary
Emily Katherine Juhas, age 91, went home to heaven on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. She was born October 25, 1927 in Chicago, IL to Stanley and Mary (Wilk) Durda, the youngest of 8 children. She married John Juhas in Muskegon in 1947 and they had 3 children. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1959. Emily was a graduate of Grand Valley State Colleges – William James with a degree in Social Work. She worked as a social worker for many years and also for the United States Post Office prior to retiring. She was a simple person and fiercely independent. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and bird watching. But most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and sharing stories. SURVIVORS include 3 children: Karen (Darrel Schafer) Wolters of Spring Lake, John Steven (Kathy) Juhas of Grand Rapids, Jeff (Linda) Juhas of Grand Rapids; 5 grandchildren: Mark (Kim) Wolters, Mary Wolters, Olivia Juhas, Kyle and Skye Schafer; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 7 siblings and a son-in-law, Terry Wolters. A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 25, 2019 at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Muskegon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
