Emma A. Wilson's Obituary
Emma A. Wilson, age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, with family by her side. She was born on November 22, 1932, to Garret and Edith (Herrick) Denhof in Muskegon, MI which has always been her home. Emma graduated from Muskegon High School class of 1951. She was a dedicated employee of 20 years to the State of Michigan. There she worked as a clerk for the Department of Social Services before retiring in 1992. On September 12, 1953, she married the love of her life Robert Wilson Sr. in Muskegon. Together they cherished 64 years full of love and laughter. Emma enjoyed spending time in her yard maintaining her garden and bird watching. She took joy in volunteering in numerous events in her community such as Summer Celebration. Above all, Emma loved spending time with her family in the kitchen and around the table cooking and baking for them. She will always be remembered for her generosity and kind heart that was perfectly balanced with a gentle spark. She will be missed by the many who knew and loved her. Emma is survived by her three sons, Bobby (Carla) Wilson, David (Karen) Wilson and Mark (Christine) Wilson; three grandchildren, Jamie (Mike) Benedict, Josh (Lisa) Wilson and Megan Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa (Mackire) Gould, Michael Benedict, Brielle Wilson and Vienna Wilson; two great-great-grandchildren, Greyson Gould and Gavin Gould; along with five Bowne, Bowne-Westjohn and VanderStel grandchildren and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Wilson Sr.; sister, Jean Smith; and brother, Don (Marilyn) Denhof. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Norton Cemetery, 743-761 Airport Rd., Norton Shores, MI 49441.
