Emma Lou Zant's Obituary
Emma Lou Zant, age 91, of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Leila and Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence. She was born September 15, 1924, in Hart to James and Zena (Haase) Bond. She married Bud Carr and together they had six children, Emma Lou then married Frank Zant, Jr. and had one more child.
Emma Lou was a life-long resident of Grand Haven and also spent time in Florida. She held numerous jobs throughout her life at Lamplighter Restaurant, cleaning at Christian Haven Home and Fountain Motel INN, Stanco, selling Avon, and babysitting for a few families. Her other interests included: Ceramics, embroidery, seek and circle puzzle books and walking her dogs.
She is lovingly remembered by seven daughters: Debra (Skip) Christian, Caren Fann, Mary Ann (Bob) Kerridge, Cindy (Steve) Rosso, Bonita and Juanita (who are twins) and Audry Kay; her son, Jerry; many grandchildren, among them are, Jeremy, Todd, Christi, Kerri, Ryan, Nathan, and Shawn; and many great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Mary Ellen (Bill) Geno and Lillian Link; two brothers, Jim Keith and Conrad Carr. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Zant, Jr. and Bud Carr, two sons, David and Michael; two sisters, Clyda and Carol; and her brother, Tom.
A memorial service for Emma Lou will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Fr. David Gross officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions to Harbor Humane Society and Harbor Hospice are appreciated.
