Emma Jane Hanson's Obituary
Mrs. Emma Jane Hanson, age 80, passed away Saturday evening, February 27, 2010, at home, surrounded by her family. She was born March 30, 1929 in Punxsutawney, PA to John David and Margaret Sylvia (Hill) Nulf. Emma worked as a cosmetologist out of her home for many years prior to her retirement. On June 2, 1945, she married James R. Hanson in Fruitport, and he preceded her in death on February 7, 2005. Emma loved her family and is survived by 7 children, Jacqueline (Harry ) Booker , Barbara (Ralph) Ryan all of Muskegon, James (Carol) Hanson of Houston, TX., Linda (Roger)Middleton, Lois(Haley) Hanson, Thomas Hanson, and Susan (Armando) Hanson all of Muskegon; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, James Nulf, of Muskegon; 2 sisters, Jacquelyn (Merle) Pierce of Muskegon, and Margaret (Clare) Horner of Ravenna; a sister-in-law, Joan Dion of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1 PM Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Avenue 231-726-5210 with Rev. Steven Hyma officiating. VISITATION will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Harbor Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
