Emmett S. Moore Jr's Obituary
Mr. Emmett Samuel Moore Jr, age 64, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 with his family by his side in Grand Rapids, MI. He was born on April 3, 1959 in Muskegon to Emmett and Dolores (Arcioni) Moore. A lifelong resident of West Michigan, Emmett married the former Suzanne Hodges on October 2, 1982 and she survives him. He worked at DTE Energy as a heavy equipment mechanic for 21 years before retiring in 2022. Along with being a gifted mechanic, Emmett was also a skilled builder and later became a licensed contractor. He spent much of his free time helping others when needed, whether it was vehicle troubles or home repairs. When not working with his hands, Emmett enjoyed spending his time traveling with Suzanne throughout the United States and Canada. They also enjoyed camping and visiting their family and friends around the United States. Emmett was very active in the community and was a member of the Muskegon Lithuanian Club, Fruitport Eagles, and was a past president of Tatra Hall. Along with his wife of 40 years, Suzanne, Emmett was also survived by his sons, Kristian (Laura) Hodges, Emmett (Michelle) Moore III, and Eric (Tahra) Moore; grandchildren, Konner, Isabella, Savannah, Charity, Morgan, Eric Jr, Emmett IV, and Gwyneira; siblings, Linda (Doug) Delaney, Steve (Trish) Moore, and Peggy (Rex) Malarik; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Robin Moore; and mother-in-law, Marie Hodges. A Celebration of Emmett’s Life will be held Sunday, May 28 from 5:00PM - 10:00PM at the Muskegon Country Club (801 Lakeshore Dr, Muskegon, MI 49441). A Time of Memory Sharing will begin at 6:00PM.
