Emogene "Jeane" Cavanaugh's Obituary
Mrs. Emogene “Jeane” Cavanaugh, age 92, went to be with her Lord Monday morning, November 22, 2010, in Muskegon. She was born February 4, 1918 in Grand Rapids to Samuel and Clara (Tuft ) Hanson and had resided in the Muskegon area the past 76 years. Jeane had been employed as a custodian at Orchard View Schools for 20 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Crestwood United Methodist Church and had previously attended its Bible Study Circle. She enjoyed china painting and was an ardent supporter of her grandchildren’s school activities. In 1944, she married Harold Cavanaugh and he preceded her in death in 1992. SURVIVORS include her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Patricia Cavanaugh of Muskegon, 4 grandchildren, Shelly (Peter) Brink of Grand Haven, Chris (Liza) Cavanaugh of Grand Rapids, Greg (Meghan) Cavanaugh of Gallup, NM and Michael Cavanaugh of Grand Rapids; 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 1PM Saturday, November 27, 2010 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210)with the Rev. Russell Palsrok officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Jeane’s family will be 7-9PM Friday and one-hour prior to the service on Saturday. For a more lasting memorial, you are asked to consider the Building Fund of Christian Care Nursing Center.
