Erik Dashner's Obituary
Erik A. Dashner, age 30, of Robinson Township passed away Sunday, October 29, 2006 at his home. He was born March 26, 1976, to Paul Allan and Ruthanne (Carskadon) Dashner in Grand Haven, and he married Jodi Marie Thier on April 4, 1997 in Grand Haven.
Erik was a lifelong resident of the Grand Haven area and a graduate of Grand Haven High School. He was baptized at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grand Haven and participated on the wrestling team while in school. He was employed by Anderson Technologies as a supervisor. He had a unique love for Bonsai Trees, and he enjoyed gardening, refurbishing cars, target practicing with his guns, collecting knives with his dad, computer and video games.
Erik is survived by his loving wife, Jodi; 2 sons, Vincent and Jared; his parents, Paul and Ruthanne Dashner of Grand Haven; his mother- and father-in-law, Ronald and Jacqueline Thier of Grand Haven; his grandmother, Mary Carskadon of Grand Haven; 2 brothers, Brian (Cindy) Dashner of South Carolina and Matthew Dashner of Grand Haven; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Erik was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Carskadon; grandparents Florence and Glenn Dashner; an uncle, Tim Carskadon; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Thier.
The service for Erik will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2006 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grand Haven. Friends may meet the family at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Parish Center following the service. Memorial contributions to Erik’s family are appreciated.
