Ernest "Dale" D. Crane's Obituary
Ernest “Dale” Crane, age 93, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021. He was born on April 4, 1928 to Ernest S. and Myrtle (Irish) Crane in Battle Creek, MI. On September 13, 1953 he married the love of his life, the former Shirley Schaub, and together they spent 57 happy years together until her passing in March of 2011. During Dale’s life, he worked for American Fire Apparatus Company selling firetrucks. Dale loved gardening, woodworking, playing cards, bowling, traveling, doing whatever Shirley wanted to do, and telling stories. Oh, the stories he would tell. Most of all, Dale loved his family. He was the happiest when he had his family around him. Dale is survived by his children, James (Nancy) Crane, Rebecca (Craig Fritz) Crane-Fritz, Brian (Jennifer) Crane; grandchildren, Heather (Travis) Miller, Abigail (James Smith) True, Robert (Jenn) Crane, Cassandra (Rose Cameron) DeYoung, Curtis (Erica) Crane, Michelle (Kellen) VanDreumel, William (Tiffany) Crane; great-grandchildren, Zoe Miller, Addilyn Miller, Everly VanDreumel, Mila VanDreumel, Jordan VanDreumal, Wyatt Crane, Gabrielle Cameron, Christian True; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Shirley Crane; siblings, Vivian (John) Wygrant, Velva (Lester) Rozell, Gladys (Charles) Troglen, Kenneth (Ruth) Crane, Charles (Betty) Crane; daughter-in-law, Linda Crane; and in-laws, Charles (Alta) Schaub, Bernard (Pat Schaub), and Willetta (Bob Baker). A GRAVESIDE SERVICE for Dale will take place at Lakeside Cemetery on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 12:00 PM.
