Ernest H. "Tip" Lowery's Obituary
Ernest H. “Tip” Lowery, age 87, passed away Sunday morning, December 20, 2015. He was born April 14, 1928 in Mansfield, TN to Benjamin and Archie (Sanders) Lowery and had been a Muskegon area resident since 1950. Tip worked for Knoll/Shaw-Walker for 41 years before retiring in 1991. On December 4, 1948 he married Lois Patterson in Jackson, MS. Mr. Lowery was an active member of the Muskegon Apostolic Tabernacle. He was a friendly and giving person. He also enjoyed visiting and talking to people, hunting, and listening to gospel music. But above all other things, he loved spending time with family. SURVIVORS include his wife, Lois; 2 sons, Ken (Jeanine) Lowry of Muskegon, James (Joyce) Patterson of Muskegon; 3 grandchildren: James Patterson, Jr., Todd (Trisha) Lowry, Amy (Jeff) Cribbins; 5 great-grandchildren: Jenna, Leah, and Gage Lowry, Ryan and Zachary Cribbins; brother, Earl “Bud” (Frances) Lowery of Camden, TN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ima Wynn. SERVICES for Ernie will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Pastor Frank Zenobia III officiating. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday, December 22, 2015. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery.
