Ernestine E. Upchurch's Obituary
Mrs. Ernestine E. Upchurch, age 78, passed away Tuesday morning, June 1, 2004. She was born November 17, 1925 in Vassar, MI to Samuel and Olga (Liska) Mikel; and has lived in the Muskegon area for the past 50 years. Mrs. Upchurch worked as a bank teller for 30 years at Security First Bank and as a bookkeeper at Stationary Supply for 15 years, prior to retiring in 1987. Ernestine enjoyed going to the casino, quilting, and knitting. On October 15, 1949 she married John Upchurch in Detroit, MI. SURVIVORS include her husband, John; 2 daughters, Cindy (Larry) Schuitema of Twin Lake and Sandy Gabris of Norton Shores; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Upchurch was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, from the Detroit area. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 2:00 PM Thursday at The Walburn Chapel with Rev. Russell Camp of Olivet Reformed Church, officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Norton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may go to Olivet Reformed Church.
