Ernest R. Norwood's Obituary
Mr. Ernest R. Norwood, age 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday evening, April 21, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born May 28, 1931 in Paris, TN to Chester T. & Mary L. (Bomar) Norwood; and has resided in the Muskegon area since the age of twelve. Prior to his retirement, Ernie owned and operated E.R. Norwood Construction Co. and then Ernie’s Auto & Trailer Sales He was a member of Calvary Church and was an active member of his Sunday School class. Ernie was a diligent worker and provider for his family, loving outdoor sports and restoring antique classic cars. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Beulah M. Knowles; 6 children, JoAnn (Larry) Wilson of Bloomington, IN, Kenneth R. (Carol) Norwood of Muskegon, Ernest K. (Janine) Norwood of Norton Shores, Kerry L. (Bonni) Norwood of St. Clair, MI, Janet A. (John) Deters of Muskegon and Kevin J. (Annette) Norwood of Spring Lake; 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Betty Mines of Muskegon; 1 aunt, Cleo Dunlap of Paris, TN and by his Yorkie, “Koko”. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandson, Paul K. Norwood (November, 2001) and by his brother, Earl K. Norwood. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Calvary Church (5873 Kendra Rd.), Fruitport with Pastors Bill Rudd & Terry Fulk officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Ernie’s family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441, (231-759-8565).
