Ernest W. "Ernie" Griswold's Obituary
Mr. Ernest W. “Ernie” Griswold, age 70, passed away Thursday morning, December 29, 2011, at his home. He was born April 3, 1941 to Elton V. and Beatrice T. (Stubbs) Griswold in Muskegon, and was a life resident. Ernie was retired from Grand Haven Stamp Products, and had previously worked at Sealed Power. He was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman. Ernie enjoyed helping people, and was a good friend to everyone he met. On January 6, 1962 he married Josephine A. Smack, and she survives him along with 1 daughter, Laura (Thomas) Stoddard of Lebanon, IL; 2 grandsons, Brandon Wayne Stoddard and Thomas Lee Stoddard; 2 brothers, Arthur (Peggy) Griswold, Harold (Sandy) Griswold; 1 sister, Dorothy Armstrong; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; 3 brothers, Charles, Vernon, and Louis Griswold. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Satuday at Lakeside United Methodist Church, with Rev. Steve Weinberger officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 756-8565 will be from 6-8 PM Friday evening, and 1 hour prior to the service Saturday.
