Estela (Anguiano) Torres' Obituary
Mrs. Estela (Anguiano) Torres, age 92, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the Hume Home. She was born January 9, 1916 in Guerrero, Mexico to Benjamin and Rita (Rodriquez) Anguiano and lived in the Muskegon area since 1955. On July 2, 1935, she married Prisciliano Torres in Crystal City, TX and he preceded her in death on November 4, 1992. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening as well as cooking her many Mexican dishes – especially her hot tamales. SURVIVORS include 4 sons, Alfonso (Gloria) Torres of Muskegon, Oswaldo Torres of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Daniel (Patricia) Torres of Kentwood, MI, Richard (Karla) Torres of Glendale, CA; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson; 1 sister, Lupe Rodriquez of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Prisciliano Torres, her parents and 2 brothers. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 2:00 PM Friday, March 14, 2008 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Anthony Britto Dhanasamy as Celebrant. INTERMENT will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Estela’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210.
