Estelle E. "Peachie" Bowen's Obituary
Mrs. Estelle Elizabeth “Peachie” Bowen, age 87, died Tuesday morning, April 30, 2013, in Fruitport, MI. She was born December 9, 1925 in Chicago, IL to Paul and Anne (Ford) Roberts and has resided in the Muskegon, MI. area the past 3 years having moved from her lifelong home in Elmhurst, IL. “Peachie” was a member of Mary Queen of Heaven in Elmhurst where she was a daily communicant. She also belonged to various Prayer Groups, Investments Clubs and a network of girlfriends, affectionately known as “The Club”, which met monthly. On March 17, 1948 she married Joseph F. Bowen and he survives her along with 4 children, JoAnne (Mark) Duffy of Burr Ridge, IL, Denise (Ralph) Ryan of Norton Shores, MI., William (Cheryl) Bowen of Sleepy Hollow, IL and Martin Bowen of Novi, MI; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; her brother, Jerry (Patricia) Nelson of Oak Park, IL and her sister, Maureen (Jerry) Lambeth of Portage, IN. “Peachie” was preceded in death by her son, John Joseph Bowen; sister, Pat Dowling and 2 brothers, Bill and Paul Roberts. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Mary Queen of Heaven (426 N West Avenue, Elmhurst, IL 60126) preceded by visitation at 1p.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Elmhurst, IL.
