Esther Ellen Lee's Obituary
Esther Ellen Lee, age 89, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. She was born March 20, 1925 in Muskegon to the late Arthur and Estelle (Kallen) Edgren. She married Stanley B. Lee in Muskegon on September 7, 1947, and he preceded her in death on July 6, 2000. Esther was an accomplished musician and sang in church and school choirs, several Civic Theater productions and also some funerals. She had cut a record with her sisters as a trio and had performed at local USO shows. She was an avid bridge player and looked forward to her weekly Bridge Club. She was also a huge sports fan, including football (especially Mona Shores), Red Wings and rarely missed a golf tournament on television. She was a member of Muskegon Service League, and formerly a member of the Viking Lodge. She is survived by her children, Randall (Neda) Lee of Fruitport, Dan (Jan) Lee of Laketon Twp., Brian (Mary) Lee of Norton Shores and Debra (Pat) O’Brien of Norton Shores; 7 grandchildren, Lynsey (Tom) Bean, Angela (Philip) Leete, Traci (Ryan) Gzym, David Lee, Kyle (Julie) Lee, Brittaney O’Brien and Patrick O’Brien; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Arthur S. Edgren, Jr. of Bend, OR. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty Jane Pucci and LaVerne McNeill. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gerald Hagans officiating at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. VISITATION will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday 10-11 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Mona View Cemetery.
