Esther Timmons' Obituary
Mrs. Esther Timmons, age 88, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015, surrounded by her family at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. Mrs. Timmons was born September 20, 1926 to Frank and Blanche (Kowalski) Sowa in Manistee. She married Max Timmons and he preceded her in death in 1984. Esther was employed at the Apple Avenue Burger King for 19 years, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed baking, playing cards with friends, crossword books, and dancing, but foremost was always her family. Esther is SURVIVED by her daughters, Darlene (Robert “Don”) Bergren, Pam (Dick) Hewitt, Veronica “Ronnie” Babcock and Maxine (Earl “Ed”) Emery; her granddaughters, Melissa (Bruce) Lewallen and Lyssa (Brent) Cooper; her great-grandchildren, Lauren and Max Lewallen, Evan and Logan Cooper; sister-in-law, Gertie Sowa; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; son-in-law, Jim Babcock; sisters, Theresa, Anna and Dorothy; and brothers, Stanley and Joseph. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, September 17, 2015 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231 798-1100. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
