Esther F. VanderVelde's Obituary
Esther Florence VanderVelde, age 100, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Esther was born July 20, 1918 to William and Florence (Gustafson) Jepsen in Manistee, MI. She grew up in Grand Haven and later moved to Muskegon where she found a place to call home. She married Nicholas VanderVelde and he preceded her in death in 1998. She used to be a member of the Salvation Army Church in Muskegon. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen and making sure her home was tended to with love. Esther treasured spending her winters on the beaches of Sarasota, Florida with her husband. She will be missed by her 2 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 9 great great-grandchildren, brother Richard, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Thomas VanderVelde and Carol Barker; 4 brothers, William, Charles, Donald, and Clifford; 4 sisters, Jane, Wilma, Betty, and Helen and her granddaughter, Tamela Reyes.
