Esther L. Florence's Obituary
Mrs. Esther L. Florence, age 87, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Seminole Shores. She was born on May 28, 1921 to James and Selina (Hepworth) Fishel in Hart, MI. Mrs. Florence was a member of Muskegon Bethel Baptist where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years, sang in the choir and served as a deaconess. She worked in food preparation for 10 years at Ponderosa and loved baking and sewing in her spare time. On March 13, 1943 she married Eugene Florence in Muskegon. He preceded her in death on February 1, 1998. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Jean (Paul) VanderMolen of Norton Shores; Jo Ann (Harry) Visscher of Fruitport and Jann (Dennis) Nuttall of Colorado Springs, CO; 9 grandchildren and 16 grand-children; 2 brothers, Joe (Mildred) Fishel of Hart and Emmanuel (Joyce) Fishel of N. Muskegon; 2 sisters, June (Lee) Marrison of Norton Shores, Alice Archer of Buford, S. Carolina and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Florence was also preceded in death by great grandson, Antonio; 1 brother; and 3 sisters. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church of Muskegon (1066 E. Byron) with her grandson, Pastor Douglas VanderMolen officiating. VISITATION will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 MEMORIALS to Bethel Baptist Church of Muskegon would be appreciated. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
