Dear VanderHoff Boys,
I wanted you to all know how badly I felt at the loss of your mom. Your tribute to her that day was wonderful, she loved it!! For some strange reason Esther has always held a special spot in my heart. Maybe it was her sparkling, smiling eyes or that laugh..not sure. I remember when you boys moved to town....five really cute guys came to St. Mary's school and instantly you became the Campbell's brothers. We loved when you came over. I asked Gene how he came to know you and he remembers so well when your mom would bring the boys out to stay sometimes for a day or overnight to see the farm animals and just plain run. He treasures your friendships as did Nora treasure her friendship with Esther. Then the big conversation came as our hearts broke when you told us you were all moving to Portland. Why????? Boy it was like taking family away. Dad would never take that big trip to visit you...Darn him! I did want you to know that I was the person that carried Esther's hand painted angels back to the apartment. She really loved them. Now that Esther is gone, coming to SL probably won't be top on your lists but do keep in touch.
Blessings to all of you Your mom did good!!
