Ethan J. Kemp's Obituary
Ethan John Kemp, beloved son of Robert and Michelle Kemp of Norton Shores, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018, in the arms of his parents and loving siblings. Born July 31,1994, Ethan was a 2012 graduate of Mona Shores, where he excelled academically, enjoyed singing in the choir, and was a dedicated member of the boys’ tennis team. Ethan loved the west Michigan life - boating, being a merman, laughing around a bonfire, hiking the dunes, attending Electric Forest, and hammocking at Lake Harbor Park. Above all else, Ethan had a loving heart; he was never happier than when surrounded by close friends, making new memories or reminiscing about the past. Despite his struggle in recent years, friends will remember Ethan for his full-face, crinkly-eyed smile and endearing, contagious laugh. Ethan is survived by his parents, sister Jenna Kemp and brother Brennan Kemp, all of Norton Shores, an extended family, and innumerable friends that he cherished in his short 24 years. VISITATION with the family will be Monday, October 8 from 5-7 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. A CELEBRATION of Ethan’s life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 9 at First Congregational Church, 1201 Jefferson Street. The date and time of a celebratory bonfire will be announced via social media at a later date. MEMORIAL contributions may be made to the City of Norton Shores Parks and Recreation Department for the upkeep of Lake Harbor Park and Whitey’s Woods. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
