Ethel Lynn Pieczynski's Obituary
Ethel Lynn “Oppie” Pieczynski, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2022. Ethel was born on January 12, 1939, in Muskegon, to her parents Louis and Nora (Cooper) Rollenhagen. She graduated from Muskegon Heights High School and lived the rest of her life in the Muskegon area. She worked for many years as a machinist and checker at American Coil Spring before retiring in 2000. Her faith was very important to her, and she was a longtime member at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Ethel was very creative and artistic. She was a loving and generous person to whoever she met. She loved making her own greeting cards to send to friends and family members, and she also enjoyed quilting and painting. She enjoyed working in her yard, and loved birdwatching, especially cardinals and hummingbirds. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ethel will be lovingly remembered by the love of her life, George Beck Sr; two children: Ron (Cindy) Pieczynski and Lauri (Joe) McDonald; four grandchildren: Joe Jr. (Amber) McDonald, Michael (Jaclyn) McDonald, Adam Pieczynski (Nikki), and Emily Pieczynski (Chris); six great-grandchildren: Tucker, Chase, Kendall, Mason, Lyra, and Eli; three siblings: Marlene Weller, Aloha (Wayne) Olsen, and Lou (Shu) Rollenhagen; many nieces and nephews; and all of George’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, especially George Jr. (Laura), K’Lee, and CJ Beck, who were especially close with her. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Nora Rollenhagen; sister, Margi Bell; and brother in-law, Jim Bell. A FUNERAL MASS will be taking place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 29, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. ROSARY will be taking place at 5:30 PM on Monday, November 28, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444. VISITATION will be taking place on Monday from 6:00-8:00 PM at The Lee Chapel, as well as an hour prior to the service on Tuesday at St. Thomas. In lieu of flowers, contributions made out to George Beck Sr. would be greatly appreciated. Please sign the family’s online guestbook and share memories at sytsemafh.com.
