Mrs. Etta D. Roberts' Obituary
Mrs. Etta D. Roberts, 78, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 13, 2016 in Muskegon. She was born October 14, 1938 to James Amburn Sumerix and Myrtle Marie (Jordan) Sumerix in Traverse City, and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. Etta loved quilting and was blessed to have made quilts for almost every one of her loving family members. She also loved the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers. She was their biggest fan. She is survived by 6 children, Debbie (Dennis) Alloway, Dawn (Gary) TenBrink, Fred Roberts, Jr., Donna Roberts, Paul (Dawn) Roberts, Paula (Don) Brown; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Gerald (Kay) Sumerix and Kenneth (Vonnie) Sumerix; 2 sisters, Phyllis (Junior) Harmon and Margaret (Chester) Carlson. She was preceded in death by James (Marietta) Sumerix, Frank (Taletha) Sumerix, Betty (Harold) Day, Beth (Walker) Christensen, Harold (Glady) Sumerix, Bonnie (Buck) Acres and Sharon Dyke. A service celebrating Mrs. Roberts’ life will be held Monday, December 19, at 1:00 PM at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565 with Pastor John H. Brown officiating.
