I was fortunate to have Gene enter my life as "Grandpa" at a young age. We did a lot of fishing, camping, card/game playing and visited the County Fair in Ludington for many horse adventures, demolition derby's and races. We shared a love for spending time at Tamarac and I will cherish those memories forever. He will be greatly missed. Prayers and positivity!
Having Gene as our next door neighbor in Ludington was the best, we always made sure he knew their would be a Mexican Train game going and he would make sure to be there. There was no mercy at these games and Gene sure did enjoy the ribbing and competition and also gave it pretty good too. The money won from the annual opening bass day with his family is still in the drawer where it was put every year. Hard to look over at his place, knowing how much he enjoyed it, but Gene really lived life and never let his back or neck slow him down. So we know he is in a good place and getting a game going or gambling if its allowed. Condolences to all of you, our hearts and prayers are with you.
Love Kevin & Penny, Ron and Michelle.
We cribbage players @Barnes & Noble Cafe will always remember your
love of cribbage and your laid back demeanor. Our card playing was never
serious and your quiet sense of humor tolerated our constant ribbing among
ourselves.
I will also remember you as one of the charter members of the Western Wings
Flying Club flying out of the Grand Haven airport; a bunch of novice aeronauts
striving to be able to fly solo.
