Eugene Edward Renouf's Obituary
Eugene Edward Renouf, age 94, of Spring Lake passed away Monday, October 26, 2020. He was born February 28, 1926, in Muskegon to Francis and Malvina (Somers) Renouf, and married Marcia Sprague on Valentine’s day in 1997.
Eugene served his country in the Army during WWII. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Sgt. Alvin Jonker VFW Post# 2326 in Grand Haven. He retired from Shape Corporation in 2006, and previously worked at Anaconda in Muskegon and Oldberg Manufacturing as a 2nd shift supervisor. Eugene loved camping, hunting, fishing, and feeding and watching the birds. He also enjoyed watching western shows, especially Bonanza.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Marcia Renouf; four daughters: Marie (Jeff) Gray, Joan Green, Patricia (Bill Cowles) Vanderlaan, and Carol (David) Clark; three sons: Jerry (Marjorie) Renouf, Robert Renouf, Thomas Renouf; step-daughter, Dawn (Greg) Brandenburg; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; his sister, Sylvia Pecak; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores (Hahn) Renouf, five sisters: Esther Marie Renouf, Polly McNeal, Evelyn Jones, Beverly Boehlein, Patricia Bolek, and his stepson, Ron White.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. David Gross as celebrant. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the Sgt. Alvin Jonker VFW Post# 2326 Honor Guard following the service. Memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the Sgt. Alvin Jonker VFW Post #2326 are appreciated.
